Department : Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) within the Global Supply Chain Operations group.. Focus : Working with suppliers in the vacuum technology space. Scope : This role spans New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering , giving visibility across multiple product groups and suppliers . Unique Opportunity : Exposure to a wide range of technologies, supplier relationships, and cross-functional collaboration. Role & responsibilities AS a Supplier QA Engineer , your responsibility is to ensure supplier manufacturing processes and products meet company's quality and reliability standards . This includes: Designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs . Conducting on-site supplier audits and troubleshooting quality & production issues . Partnering with suppliers to analyze production data, identify trends, and drive improvements . Supporting development of new vacuum system components such as advanced valves, heaters, actuators, bellows, sensors, and pumps . Key Responsibilities Solve technical and quality problems in semiconductor equipment manufacturing. Be accountable for supplier engineering tasks and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers. Travel to supplier sites for audits, investigations, and process improvements . Lead problem-solving analysis (Root Cause & Corrective Action, RCCA). Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Group, Field Service, Accounts, Quality, and Customers). Ensure suppliers follow engineering design standards, documentation, and change processes Mandatory Skills (Must-Have) Analytical & Experimental Skills Strong problem-solving capabilities (8D process, 5-Why, FMEA, Weibull analysis). Supplier & Quality Management Experience handling critical quality escalations and process audits. Manufacturing Process Expertise Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) , and failure analysis (FA) . Thermal & Flow Modeling Ability to understand and analyze supplier-provided simulations . Communication & Stakeholder Management Strong skills in technical documentation, presentations, and supplier negotiations . Desirable Skills (Good to Have) Prior experience in vacuum system design . Exposure to quality & reliability systems (semiconductor, automotive, aerospace). Project Management & Leadership experience. Knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC), SPC tools (Minitab, JMP). Education & Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree with 12+ years of experience. Master’s Degree with 8+ years of experience. PhD with 5+ years of experience.
