Regular DevOps Engineer - L2 Support

Job Description

Our client, one of the largest UK grocery and general merchandise retailers, is undergoing a major transformation into a technology-driven retail company . As part of this journey, we are modernizing the technology landscape and developing new applications across various departments such as Supply Chain, Product Lifecycle Management, Finance, and HR . As a Support Engineer , you will work closely with colleagues in the UK, resolving incidents, proactively identifying issues, and enhancing system reliability . You will collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting strategies to minimize disruptions and optimize performance. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for escalated incidents. Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve issues and implement preventive measures . Create dashboards and alerts to proactively detect and address system failures. Work with teams to implement runbooks and tools for faster issue resolution. Analyze system performance and proactively identify areas of improvement. Document incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting procedures . Communicate effectively with end-users, support teams, and stakeholders. Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and train Level 1 support teams. Work in a rotational 14x7 shift between 9:30 AM - 10:30 PM . Must-Have Skills: 4+ years of experience in a support or troubleshooting role . Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Travis CI . Strong debugging skills (Java), Linux OS & Shell Scripting . Understanding of Kubernetes & Docker commands . Experience with Splunk (dashboard creation, writing queries based on error signatures) . Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) . Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with Prometheus, Ansible, Terraform scripting . Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaboration with cross-functional teams .
