At Kuehne+Nagel, our work is about more than we imagine. ‎ The National Air Logistics Sales Manager is a key player within the salesforce, responsible for managing and leading the performance of the Business Unit (BU) air sales team. Their primary mission is on business development, ensuring growth, and fostering a cohesive and high-performing team. ZA-DV acts as a bridge between the BU air sales team and the organization, creating a sense of belonging and shared responsibility. They drive business development efforts through effective portfolio management, performance tracking, and pipeline management. While primarily a people manager, NA-DV also wears the hat of a salesperson. However, their account load is intentionally reduced, focusing on larger accounts. National Air Logistics Sales Manager plays a critical role in achieving business objectives, nurturing talent, and ensuring the team’s success. How you create impact Portfolio Management Responsible along with NA, NA-D and NV for the proper portfolio management on national level BU air Sales Actively follow ups quality of account intelligence with the team via one 2 one reviews or in teams review to assess accounts potential, KN addressable potential and profile of accounts Shares responsibility to define sales channel, through portfolio review, with AIR BU, xBU and National Sales teams In alignment with its team and National Air Logistics team, assign accounts, in a balanced way aiming to maximize the resources available and increasing the likelihood of business conversion Performance Management Primarily responsible for defining the target setting for BU air sales, based on factual, account potential and portfolio baseline and growth expected from BU air sales channel Responsible to cascade the target setting to the teams, able to explain the methodology of commissioning model, payout rate and others Regularly discuss performance evolution with its teams and vertically, giving visibility of performance evolution against target setting Regularly discuss teams and individual salesperson KPIs like, customer visits, account intelligence, sales cycles phases Pipeline Management Overall responsible for implementing and executing consistent pipeline management as outlined in the Global Sales Governance guideline Engages peers in early stages along with its own team, ensuring early discussion face to future opportunities Supports the team during account qualification and nurturing periods in joint visits whenever possible and necessary bringing a more BU oriented approach Team Management Identifying High Potential Individuals: NA-DV has a keen eye for talent. They identify and nurture high-potential individuals within the team, helping them thrive and contribute to the team’s success Clear Expectations: The National Air Logistics Sales Manager sets clear expectations aligned with the company’s goals. They communicate targets, objectives, and performance standards to the team Team Balance and Upskilling: NA-V ensures that the overall team is well-balanced, with each member maximizing their potential within their customer platform. They actively work on upskilling team members to achieve high performance Training: identifies teams needs in trainings and support training process via eLearing path or requesting live training to corporate or national teams. Can also lead trainings to the team in different areas What we would like you to bring 7 - 10 years of experience in air logistics or freight forwarding, with at least 3 - 5 years in a sales leadership role Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in air freight/logistics Deep understanding of air freight products, international trade, and regulatory frameworks Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills Ability to travel nationally as required What's in it for you As an employer, Kuehne+Nagel stands for equal opportunity and we are committed to diversity in our teams with regards to people with disabilities.
