Role purpose As an Engineer I - System Administration, you will install and monitor Linux/Windows operating systems, administer, support, troubleshoot and cater to the business needs in this environment. You will resolve user issues, address change management requests, and identify potential issues by implementing protective measures. Duties And Responsibilities Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting toolsSupport and troubleshoot various Linux/Windows environmentsHelp tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructurePerform regular backups & restoration as per defined processFault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptionsPerform day-to-day maintenance; investigate and resolve incidents and/or change tickets for the environment.Evaluate, recommend, and implement strategies for scalability, disaster recovery and high availability Knowledge, Experience & Skills Knowledge of Operating Systems installation, configuration and hardening managementKnowledge of system admin, Linux/Windows operating systems, net backup and EMC storage AdminRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)Knowledge of App servers and web servers:JBOSS, Websphere, Apache, IIS, etc.Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar related fields required.
