A Paravet (Para-Veterinary Professional) is a trained animal health worker who supports veterinarians by providing essential healthcare services to livestock and companion animals. In India, Paravets play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the limited number of veterinarians and the vast livestock population, especially in rural and underserved areas.Glassdoor+4Brighter Kashmir+4Internshala Key Responsibilities Primary Animal Healthcare : Administer vaccinations, deworming, and basic treatments for common ailments such as foot and mouth disease, brucellosis, and lumpy skin disease. Brighter Kashmir Assisting in Veterinary Procedures : Support veterinarians during surgeries, assist in artificial insemination, and perform castrations. Data Management : Maintain records of vaccinations, treatments, and breeding activities. Utilize digital platforms like the Bharat Pashudhan App for data entry.Brighter Kashmir Community Outreach : Conduct awareness programs in villages, educating farmers about animal health, disease prevention, and government schemes. Preventing Quackery : Act as a safeguard against unqualified practitioners by providing legitimate veterinary services.
