Piping Design Engineer

Job Description

Role Description: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Piping Designer / Draftsman with 1–2 years of experience in piping design and drafting. The role involves supporting senior designers and engineers in extracting drawings, preparing material take-offs (MTO), and assisting in 2D/3D modeling work for industrial and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the extraction of Isometric drawings from 3D models for fabrication and site use. Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTO) from P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams). Support the extraction of General Arrangement (GA) drawings for piping layouts. Generate preliminary and detailed MTOs using 2D and 3D CAD models . Assist in modeling of equipment based on vendor drawings and specifications. Perform 2D piping modeling using CAD tools as per project guidelines and standards. Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field. 1–2 years of relevant experience in piping design/drafting. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and exposure to 3D modeling tools such as PDMS , SP3D , or E3D is an advantage. Basic understanding of P&ID , piping components, and engineering drawing practices. Ability to read and interpret vendor equipment drawings . Familiarity with MTO preparation and extraction processes.
