Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector and seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale its manufacturing, supply chain, and operational excellence functions across India. This is a pivotal leadership role designed to drive world-class operational efficiency, technological advancement, and sustainable growth in one of the most important energy markets globally. Role: Chief Operating Officer Location: Bangalore, India (will pay for relocation if required) Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Leadership: Oversee and optimise end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring production excellence, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. Supply Chain Strategy: Design, implement, and manage a resilient, sustainable, and cost-efficient supply chain that supports the company's growth and delivery commitments. Operational Excellence: Develop and drive operational strategies that increase productivity, improve process automation, and embed lean methodologies across functions. Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Sales, and Project Delivery teams to align operational capabilities with market demands and technological innovations. Vendor and Partner Management: Build strong relationships with key suppliers, logistics partners, and contract manufacturers to ensure reliability, quality, and scalability. P&L Responsibility: Manage budgets, forecast resource needs, and drive financial performance improvements across operational departments. Leadership & Culture: Lead, mentor, and develop large cross-functional teams; foster a culture of safety, innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability. Ideal Candidate Profile 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and operations — ideally within renewable energy, heavy engineering, automotive, or large-scale industrial sectors. Proven track record of scaling complex manufacturing operations in India or comparable emerging markets. Strong expertise in lean manufacturing, operational excellence, supply chain optimization, and cost control . Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills — capable of influencing at the board level and managing cross-cultural teams. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related fields; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable. A passion for sustainability, clean technology, and innovation will be an advantage.
