Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager for IBM Z, you will design, develop, test, and deliver offerings using the latest technologies, while aligning employees work with IBM's strategy and goals. You will lead or participate in organization planning, providing leadership and support to ensure business objectives are met. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead Offering Development: Own the full lifecycle of feature development from design through testing, release and operations
- Team Management: Assign individuals, collaborate with other leaders to allocate employee resources, and provide feedback to improve performance, while fostering teamwork and inclusion across organizations to deliver high quality software.
- Business Results: Accept accountability for business results, including meeting client satisfaction, productivity, financial, and other business measurements, and recognize contributions by employees and teams.
- Talent Development: Advise and coach employees to help them develop their skills and capabilities, and execute processes for the normal operation of employee programs.
- Ensure high quality technical delivery through thoughtful testing and release practices
- Work with the Product Architects, Product Managers to understand various priorities and work towards the execution

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Total 12+ years of software experience including 2+ years of experience in Management.
- People management, project management and leadership skills.
- Broad technical experience from various development projects and Agile development methodologies.
- Strong background in technical development and/or software architecture.
- Have managed a full stack team (frontend and backend engineers)
- Have exposure to software and services written in technologies such as Java, Javascript, Golang, Python and typescript

- Passion for IBM Z Software, mainframe technologies, and cloud development.
- High interest in technical innovation.
- Experience with AI (LLMs, Agentics, MCP/ACP, AI IDEs)
