Role & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch. Customize and extend existing themes and plugins to meet project requirements. Collaborate with the design team to implement modern and responsive design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Ensure websites are SEO-optimized, secure, and maintain high performance. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including bugs, compatibility problems, and performance issues. Manage and update WordPress sites, ensuring compatibility with the latest updates and security patches. Work with APIs and third-party integrations to enhance functionality. Test websites on various browsers and devices for compatibility. Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices. Maintain code quality, organization, and testing procedures. Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in WordPress development. Key Skills: Strong proficiency in WordPress, including theme and plugin development. Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. Experience with popular page builders like Elementor or WPBakery. Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and WordPress database structure. Familiarity with version control systems like Git. Strong understanding of SEO principles and web performance optimization. Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce. Knowledge of responsive web design and mobile-first design principles. Experience with website migration and backups. Understanding of website security practices and SSL certificates. Familiarity with debugging tools such as Chrome Developer Tools. Preferred Skills: Experience with WP CLI (Command Line Interface). Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js. Experience with custom post types and advanced custom fields (ACF). Familiarity with hosting environments (cPanel, Plesk, AWS, etc.). Knowledge of other content management systems (CMS) like Joomla, Drupal, or Magento. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in WordPress development (for Junior level) / 3-5 years (for Senior level)
