Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engine Design Engineer to join our Commercial Vehicle Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 710 years of experience in designing and developing engine components for commercial vehicles, with strong expertise in engine design, design software, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead concept design, 3D modeling, and detailing of engine components such as cylinder head, block, crankcase, intake & exhaust manifolds, brackets, and auxiliary systems.
Ensure design for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and durability.
Create and release engineering drawings and specifications using PLM tools (Smaragd / Teamcenter) and CAD software ( NX).
Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-up analysis, and risk assessments.
Collaborate with MFTBC counterparts to align design concepts, KPI targets, and release schedules.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve feasibility issues and ensure timely design freeze.
Contribute to cost optimization, and innovation initiatives within the powertrain domain.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of engine systems and components.
Hands-on experience in NX for 3D modeling and drafting.
Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Smaragd, Teamcenter) and document control workflows.
Understanding of material selection, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, sheet metal).
Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration with MFTBC teams.
Experience in supplier communication and coordination.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate ownership of design deliverables.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
