Job Description

Location: Pune Experience: 7-10 Years Budget: 21 LPA (Fixed) Notice Period: 10 Days (Immediate joiners are highly recommended) Position: Server Admin Job Summary: The Server Admin is responsible for managing and maintaining an organisation's virtual infrastructure both VMware & Hyper-V, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security, including tasks like creating virtual machines, managing hypervisors, migration and troubleshooting issues. Good working knowledge of VxRail technology and related storage administration. Good hands-on experience with Linux OS. Managing and monitoring the network and coordinating with the global network team. Relationships: Reports to: IT Manager. Core Responsibilities: Virtual Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) and virtual desktops. Manage and maintain virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of virtualized environments. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance of virtualized systems and identify areas for optimization. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, ensuring smooth operation of virtualized applications and services. Resource Management: Allocate and manage virtual resources (CPU, memory, storage) to meet the needs of virtual machines. Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments. Ensure that virtual machines and data are protected against data loss and downtime. Security: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures for virtualized environments. Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities. Documentation and Automation: Maintain detailed documentation of virtualized infrastructure and processes. Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. Collaboration: Work with other IT teams (e.g., network, storage, security) to ensure smooth operation of the overall IT infrastructure. Provide technical guidance to other IT personnel. Technology: Microsoft Servers, Hyper-V and VMware. must have. Understand Cloud Platforms and cybersecurity. VxRail Technology (hyper-converged system with VMware Cloud Foundation SDDC Manager)- must have Dell EMC Isilon Storage Management – must have Linux OS – must have Previous Experience and Competencies : Bachelor’s degree in IT-related discipline Strong computer literacy with aptitude and readiness for multidiscipline training 5 – 10 years seniority (Senior and Hands-on) Preferred Certifications Windows Servers & VMware administration. Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks. Good to have: Cloud technology (GCP / Azure / AWS).
