Welding / Fabrication Engineer – Oil & Gas Projects

We are seeking an experienced Pipe Welding Engineer to oversee and manage all welding engineering activities associated with piping fabrication and erection in oil & gas, petrochemical, and EPC projects. The incumbent will ensure welding procedures, consumables, and execution are in compliance with project specifications, client standards, and international codes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ in accordance with project and code requirements.

Provide welding technical support during piping fabrication, erection, repair, and modification works.

Select appropriate welding processes, consumables, and techniques for various piping materials (CS, SS, Alloy, Duplex).

Monitor welder qualification tests and maintain welder performance records.

Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards: ASME Sec IX, ASME B31.3, B31.4, API, AWS D1.1, ISO 3834.

Liaise with QA/QC inspectors to resolve welding quality issues and NCRs.

Coordinate with construction teams for troubleshooting welding-related problems on site.

Review vendor welding documentation and ensure alignment with project specifications.

Provide training and technical guidance to welding supervisors and workforce.

Contribute to project quality dossiers and final handover packages with complete welding records.

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor’s/Diploma in Mechanical / Welding Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 8–12 years’ welding engineering experience in piping projects (oil & gas / EPC).

Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy, procedures, and advanced welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW).

Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, or IWE/EWE preferred.

Hands-on experience in welder qualification, welding procedure development, and troubleshooting.
