About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our dynamic team on an immediate basis. This contract position plays a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web infrastructure, including websites, web applications, and internal tools. The successful candidate will work closely with the founders and cross-functional teams to create high-quality, secure, and high-performance web solutions that align with our business objectives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, ensuring our digital presence remains robust and competitive.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of professional web development experience, demonstrating strong technical expertise and a passion for building scalable digital solutions. Proficiency in PHP and WordPress development is essential, including theme and plugin customization, working with frameworks like Roots/Bedrock, and utilizing Gutenberg blocks. Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, TypeScript, and Node.js is required, along with familiarity with package managers like NPM and build tools like Webpack or Vite.Additional qualifications include experience with design tools like Figma for UI prototyping and collaboration, a solid understanding of frontend frameworks like Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap, and knowledge of SEO best practices and performance optimization techniques. Candidates should have hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB, as well as version control systems like Git. Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, PHPUnit, or React Testing Library, and experience with static site generators like Astro, Hugo, or Jekyll are highly desirable.Furthermore, candidates should possess a good understanding of web security principles, including SSL/TLS, cryptography, and secure authentication protocols, along with compliance standards like GDPR and ADA. Knowledge of .NET and C# for API development, as well as experience with Microsoft Entra ID, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 for authentication and authorization, will be advantageous. Experience with Docker and containerization concepts for development and deployment is also preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our primary website and modern web applications to ensure optimal performance, security, and usability.
- Create and consume RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration of services and applications across platforms.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code to ensure long-term project sustainability.
- Optimize website and application performance with a focus on Core Web Vitals, page speed, and overall user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold code quality standards.
- Work within Agile development workflows utilizing Azure DevOps for project management, sprint planning, and task tracking.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical recommendations, and deliver tailored web solutions aligned with business goals.
- Implement and maintain web security best practices to safeguard against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Stay updated with emerging web technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance our web development capabilities.
