Web Application Test Engineer

As a Web Application Test Engineer with 8-15 years of experience, your role will involve ensuring the quality and reliability of cloud-native, multi-region, and multi-market web and mobile applications. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of performance, functionality, and user experience. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on user stories, functional specifications, and technical requirements. - Participate in requirement reviews and sprint planning to ensure all aspects of the application are testable and have a clear "Definition of Done." - Contribute to the overall testing strategy for web and mobile applications, including regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. - Perform manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications across various browsers, devices, and operating systems. - Execute test cases to identify, reproduce, and report defects with clear, concise, and detailed information. - Generate and manage test data to support testing efforts, including creating realistic and diverse data sets. - Report on testing progress, defect status, and quality metrics to the project team and management. - Work collaboratively with developers to troubleshoot and debug issues. - Communicate effectively with product owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide feedback on the user experience. - Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies. Required Qualifications: Experience: - Proven experience as a Web Application Test Engineer or a similar role. - Experience testing complex, cloud-native applications in a multi-region and multi-market environment. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly with using user stories and the "Definition of Done." - Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in creating and executing manual test cases. - Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps). - Ability to generate, manage, and manipulate test data effectively. - Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android). Soft Skills: - Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for quality. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright). - Familiarity with performance, load, and security testing concepts. - Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). - ISTQB or other relevant quality assurance certifications.
