You will oversee the daily operations on the service floor to ensure the timely execution of repairs and services as per job cards. It will be your responsibility to allocate work to technicians based on their skill levels, availability, and the complexity of the job. Monitoring ongoing repair jobs for quality and adherence to OEM guidelines is crucial in this role. You will need to ensure that the proper tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices are used according to manufacturer standards. Tracking job status and updating service advisors to ensure timely vehicle delivery to customers will be part of your duties. Performing root cause analysis for repeat complaints or escalated technical issues is essential for maintaining high-quality service standards. You will also be responsible for overseeing pre-delivery inspections (PDI), road tests, and final quality checks before vehicle handover. Coordination with the parts department for the availability and timely issuance of spares will be required. Monitoring technician productivity, efficiency, and bay utilization is vital to ensure optimal performance. Upholding workplace safety, cleanliness, and compliance with service SOPs and audit requirements are key aspects of this role. A deep understanding of vehicle systems such as the engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes is necessary. Knowledge of DMS (Dealer Management System) for job tracking and technician allocation is also expected. Experience with warranty repairs, estimations, and cost control will be beneficial. Understanding workshop KPI metrics like Efficiency, Productivity, and Repeat Repairs is essential for success in this position.
