VP -Principal Infrastructure and Platform Engineer

Job Description

Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments, including development, testing, and production. Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters. Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application deployment and performance on Kubernetes. Implement security best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of Kubernetes environments. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and container orchestration. Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and features to enhance the efficiency and reliability of Kubernetes clusters. Document processes, procedures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide guidance to team members on Kubernetes best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Required Skills Master/Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Extensive experience working with Kubernetes in production environments. Working knowledge of Rancher/RKE2 and AWS EKS Kubernetes environments. Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman. Experience in Gitlab, Helm, Flux/Argo CD, Container Image Repository etc. Strong understanding of Linux systems administration and networking concepts. Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS. Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills Kubernetes certification (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) Experience with micro services architecture and related technologies (e.g., Istio, Consul). Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud strategies and implementations.
