Company Overview

Nibe Space is building Indias first integrated Earth observation and SAR satellite constellation with a focus on high-resolution imagery, advanced analytics and secure geospatial solutions for government and enterprise customers. The company operates across the full value chain including satellite design and manufacturing, launch planning, ground operations, imagery sales and data-as-a-service delivery. As a capital-intensive business operating in the space and defence ecosystem, Nibe Space requires disciplined financial management, robust governance, strong treasury controls and the ability to support long-term investment programmes. The Vice President, Finance will play a central role in shaping the company’s financial architecture during a period of rapid growth.

Role Overview

The Vice President, Finance will lead core financial operations of the company and act as the primary support to the Group Chief Financial Officer. The role is responsible for accounting, financial planning, treasury, tax, compliance, internal controls, audit coordination and financial governance. The position requires strong technical depth, operational discipline, cross-functional collaboration and the ability to scale financial systems and processes in a fast-growing organisation. Experience in space, defence or other complex capital-intensive sectors is a strong advantage. Prior exposure to investment banking or transaction advisory is a valuable differentiator.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Oversee accounting operations, general ledger, revenue recognition, payables, receivables and monthly close
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with Ind AS and relevant standards
  • Strengthen internal controls, documentation, compliance and audit readiness
  • Manage statutory audit, internal audit and coordination with external auditors
  • Maintain robust fixed asset management, capitalisation policies and inventory controls

Financial Planning and Performance Management

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and financial modelling
  • Drive variance analysis, business performance reviews and board-level reporting
  • Partner with business units to evaluate investments, contracts and operating plans
  • Improve financial KPIs, reporting cadence and decision support frameworks

Treasury and Cash Management

  • Lead cash flow planning, liquidity management and working capital optimisation
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, hedging needs and fund utilisation
  • Ensure disciplined treasury operations, payment controls and compliance with banking norms
  • Build treasury systems, automation and forecasting tools

Fundraising and Capital Strategy

  • Support the CFO in structuring equity, debt and hybrid funding transactions
  • Prepare investor materials, financial models, diligence packages and board submissions
  • Engage with banks, financial institutions, private equity, investment bankers and strategic investors
  • Lead readiness for fundraising processes including data rooms, compliance documentation and investor reviews

Taxation and Compliance

  • Oversee direct and indirect tax matters including planning, filings and assessments
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act, FEMA, RBI, GST, Income Tax and other regulatory requirements
  • Support cross-border transactions, transfer pricing and transaction structuring

Governance, Controls and Risk Management

  • Strengthen financial governance, risk management processes and policy frameworks
  • Implement best-in-class financial systems, ERP enhancements and automation initiatives
  • Drive standardisation of processes across accounting, procurement, treasury and reporting

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounts team
  • Establish clear processes, training and accountability standards
  • Work closely with senior leadership to institutionalise financial discipline

Qualifications and Experience

  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent with strong academic credentials
  • Thirteen to fifteen years of experience in finance, accounting and treasury with at least five years in a senior leadership role
  • Exposure to space, defence, aerospace, manufacturing or other high-precision, capital-intensive industries is a significant advantage
  • Experience in investment banking, corporate finance or transaction advisory is a strong plus
  • Strong command of financial reporting standards, regulatory compliance and treasury operations
  • Proven experience in managing fundraising processes and investor interactions
  • Experience managing audits, banks and multi-entity corporate structures
  • Strong analytical capability, financial modelling ability and systems orientation
