VMware Support Engineer (NSX)

in

India

.In this role, you will provide expert-level support for VMware environments, specializing in NSX, to ensure operational stability and security for enterprise customers. You will troubleshoot complex technical issues, manage virtualized network infrastructures, and implement best practices across NSX and vSphere platforms. Working as part of a global team, you will deliver timely solutions, contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, and improve overall customer satisfaction. The position offers opportunities to work with advanced virtualization technologies, develop technical expertise in cloud networking, and engage in challenging problem-solving scenarios. This is a fully remote role, offering flexibility while supporting mission-critical systems.

Accountabilities

  • Provide L3 support for VMware environments, focusing on NSX architecture including Managers, Controllers, Transport Nodes, and Edge Nodes
  • Troubleshoot logical switching and routing, including segment management and Tier-0/Tier-1 gateway design
  • Configure and manage distributed and gateway firewalls, micro-segmentation, and policy optimization
  • Handle edge services such as load balancer configuration, NAT, and VPN
  • Administer VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, ESXi, VM networking, and vDS
  • Execute and interpret REST API calls using tools like Curl and Postman, and manage certificates
  • Navigate Linux/UNIX environments to perform troubleshooting, system analysis, and network monitoring
  • Conduct packet captures and analyze network traffic using Wireshark
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance customer support processes and document technical knowledge
  • Deliver high-quality customer service with effective communication, incident tracking, and root cause analysis

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with VMware core technologies at a senior support level
  • Strong expertise in NSX-T architecture, logical switching/routing, distributed and gateway firewalls, and edge services
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, VM networking, and vDS
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, certificates, Linux/UNIX environments, and advanced networking concepts (L3 protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs)
  • Ability to perform packet capture analysis and troubleshoot complex network issues
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Certifications such as VCP, VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, LPIC-1/2, CCNA/CCNP are a plus
  • Willingness to provide occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday support as required
