VMC Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 5-Axis VMC Programmer cum Operator to handle programming, setup, and operation of 5-axis vertical machining centers for precision components. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in CAM software, tool selection, and machining strategies to ensure efficient and high-quality production. CNC Programming of 5-Axis VMC machines using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, or Fusion 360,Solidcam). Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T. Selecting appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material and part requirements. Machine setup including job loading, alignment, tool offsetting, and fixture installation. Conducting first-piece inspection and making necessary program/tool adjustments. Ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per drawing specifications. Performing in-process inspection using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM). Routine machine maintenance and keeping the work area clean and safe. Troubleshooting machining problems and optimizing cycle times. Collaborating with design and QA teams to resolve machining or quality issues. Requirements: Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Proficiency in 5-Axis VMC operation and CNC programming. Knowledge of CAM software and post-processing. Strong understanding of machining parameters and cutting strategies. Ability to work independently and manage production targets. Familiarity with ISO and quality standards in precision machining. Preferred Skills:Experience in aerospace, automotive, or mold/die industries. Knowledge of fixture design and workholding strategies. Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
