Job Title: Senior VMC Operator / Programmer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled VMC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in operating, setting, and programming Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs). This role requires in-depth knowledge of machining processes, manual programming, and the ability to efficiently handle multiple machines to meet production targets with precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently set up, operate, and program VMC machines as per production requirements.
• Perform manual programming using G & M codes directly on the machine control panel.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets to produce components within tolerance.
• Optimize machining parameters to achieve the best balance of quality, accuracy, and productivity.
• Manage and operate multiple VMC machines simultaneously when required.
• Conduct tool setup, offsets, and calibration for different machining operations.
• Ensure routine maintenance of machines and tools for optimal performance.
• Inspect finished components using measuring instruments like micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, etc.
• Collaborate with the production and quality teams to ensure adherence to specifications and resolve machining issues.
• Maintain 5S, safety, and quality standards on the shop floor.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a VMC Operator/Programmer.
• Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi or equivalent).
• Proficient in manual G-code programming and editing.
• Ability to set up fixtures, jigs, and tools independently.
• Experience in multi-machine handling and process optimization.
• Sound understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T).
• Excellent attention to detail, precision, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Education:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Tool & Die Making (or equivalent qualification).
