Role Overview

The Video Editor will be responsible for editing, assembling, and producing compelling videos for digital platforms including YouTube, social media, and Kumudam’s online channels. The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of visual storytelling, creativity, and the ability to deliver polished videos under deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into high-quality, engaging video content for digital and social platforms.
• Collaborate closely with content creators, journalists, and the digital team.
• Add motion graphics, captions, sound effects, and background music where required.
• Ensure brand consistency and maintain Kumudam’s editorial standards across all video content.
• Optimize videos for social media formats (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Reels, Shorts).
• Manage video assets, archiving, and file organization.
• Stay updated on current trends in digital video formats, storytelling, and visual design.
• Work on promo videos, interviews, news capsules, and special feature stories.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Video Editor (media, digital publication, or YouTube experience preferred).
• Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of After Effects and basic motion graphics is a plus.
• Strong sense of visual composition, pacing, and storytelling.
• Familiarity with Tamil content and the ability to edit Tamil videos effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment with tight deadlines.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Educational Qualification

• Degree/Diploma in Film Editing, Media, Visual Communication, or related fields (preferred but not mandatory).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
