Title: Vice President – Sales & Market Development (Architectural Metal Facades & Ceilings)
Location: Agra– Extensive travel (India + international)
Reports to: Founder / Managing Director
Experience: 10–18 years (frontline sales + leadership in building materials / facades / ceilings/building material /architecture products)
Role Summary
This is a senior leadership role responsible for building and leading the go-to-market engine for an architectural metal facade and ceiling company in India. The VP will own demand generation with architects, developers, government bodies, and institutional clients, and work closely with R&D, structural engineering, and computational design to convert design opportunities into profitable projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market & Demand Generation
Build and execute a nationwide strategy to create demand for advanced metal facade and ceiling systems with architects, facade consultants, PMC firms, private developers, and government/PSU bodies.
Open new markets (cities, segments, channels) and institutional relationships, including Smart City projects, airports, metros, educational institutes, and cultural/public buildings.
Represent the company in India and abroad at conferences, exhibitions, design festivals, and government or institutional meetings; conduct presentations and technical talks.
2. Key Account & Relationship Management
Develop deep, long-term relationships with top architectural firms, facade consultants, EPC contractors, and key government decision-makers.
Act as the single strategic point of contact for high-value accounts, coordinating internal teams to respond with designs, proposals, and technical solutions.
Establish strategic alliances with international architects, design studios, and global sourcing partners where relevant.
3. Solution Selling with Design & Engineering
Work hand-in-hand with the Senior Computational Designer and Structural/Mechanical Engineer to translate client briefs into technically feasible, commercially viable solutions.
Lead design–assist and pre-sales technical discussions, including explaining system capabilities, installation methods, performance benefits, and customization options.
Ensure proposals, BOQs, and presentations clearly communicate value (design, durability, sustainability, acoustics, etc.) and differentiate from commodity fabricators.
4. Sales Leadership & Team Building
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance technical sales and specification team across key Indian metros over time.
Define sales processes: lead qualification, pipeline management, forecasting, key account plans, and reporting for Pan-India operations.
Set and monitor revenue targets, margins, and key performance indicators; drive disciplined execution without losing the consultative nature of the sales approach.
5. Marketing & Brand Development
Work with marketing resources/agencies to create strong product narratives, case studies, sample kits, presentations, and digital content aimed at architects and decision-makers.
Plan and execute marketing campaigns: architect meets, design competitions, CPD sessions, webinars, trade shows, and social media/website content focused on design and innovation.
Ensure brand positioning reflects the company’s strengths in parametric design, customization, R&D, sustainability, and integrated design-to-manufacture capabilities.
6. Collaboration with R&D and Product Development
Provide structured market feedback to the R&D team on emerging trends, unmet needs, and competitor activities.
Co-create new product families and system lines with R&D and design based on recurring patterns of demand and specification trends.
Participate in product roadmap decisions, pricing strategy, and launch plans for new systems and finishes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Graduate in Engineering / Architecture / Construction / Business; MBA or equivalent is a plus but not mandatory if experience is strong.
10+ years of experience in sales/BD for building materials, facades, ceilings, architectural products, or high-spec construction systems, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of selling to architects, developers, government departments, and large institutional clients on design-driven, technical products (not just commodity pricing).
Strong understanding of project sales cycles (concept → design → tender → award → execution) and the dynamics of government and private sector procurement in India.
Comfort interacting with senior architects, principal designers, CXOs, and government officials; strong presentation and storytelling skills.
Experience working closely with internal technical teams (design, engineering, production) to develop project-specific solutions and proposals.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within India and periodically overseas.
