Role Overview: As the Vice President of Technology, you will be the driving force behind our backend and frontend architecture, ensuring seamless integration, security, and performance across our products. You will oversee cloud infrastructure, platform scalability, data management, and AI/ML-driven enhancements, ensuring our technology stack remains ahead of the curve. In addition, to achieve this goal, you will also actively participate in hiring and building our growing technology team with exceptional talents. Core Responsibilities: 1) Cloud & Infrastructure Management - Oversee global cloud architecture , ensuring high availability, reliability, and cost efficiency - Optimize CDN (Content Delivery Networks) strategies to ensure fast, seamless content delivery at scale - Manage server infrastructure, load balancing, and caching mechanisms for peak streaming performance. 2) Backend Engineering & Data Management - Lead microservices-based architecture , ensuring scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance backend systems. - Oversee and implement data warehousing, big data analytics, and AI-driven insights for content recommendations, ad personalization, and viewer engagement. - Manage real-time logs, telemetry, and analytics to track streaming performance and predict/prevent system failures. 3) AI, Personalization & Recommendation Engines - Work with AI/ML teams to refine algorithms for content recommendations, search relevance, and user engagement - Improve user behavior analysis , ensuring personalized watchlists, autoplay suggestions, and intelligent UI/UX enhancements. - Leverage computer vision and NLP (Natural Language Processing) to automate metadata tagging, content classification, and localization . 4) Frontend & User Experience (UX/UI) - Ensure seamless, high-performance cross-device experience - Optimize app performance, load times, and accessibility features to enhance engagement. - Drive improvements in interactive content, live streaming, and gamified experiences to improve user retention. 5) Security, Compliance & DRM (Digital Rights Management) - Implement end-to-end content security , including DRM solutions like Widevine, FairPlay, and PlayReady . - Ensure cybersecurity best practices , including api security, account security, etc . 6) Live Streaming & AdTech Integration - Scale infrastructure for live events, sports streaming, and real-time audience engagement - Oversee server-side ad insertion (SSAI), ad targeting, and monetization strategies for AVOD and FAST channels. 7) Cross-Functional Leadership & Budgeting - Lead large-scale engineering teams across multiple locations, ensuring agile development and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) . - Collaborate with product, data science, design, and business teams to align technology with company goals. - Manage multi-million-dollar budgets for cloud resources, R&D, AI-driven innovation, and new product development. 8) Technology Strategy & Vision - Define and execute a long-term technology roadmap to support streaming infrastructure, cloud computing, AI-driven recommendations, and personalization. - Stay ahead of emerging technologies like edge computing, low-latency streaming, AI-driven content discovery, and immersive video experiences (AR/VR, 4K/8K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, etc.) . - Drive innovation in streaming protocols (DASH, HLS, WebRTC), codecs (AV1, VP9, HEVC), and adaptive bitrate technologies to optimize video quality and reduce buffering. Skills & Experience Required: Experience: - 15+ years in software engineering, cloud architecture and streaming technologies - 5+ years in executive leadership roles . - Less than 3 years hands-on experience in AI/ML in relevant industry Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in CDNs, cloud computing, microservices, AI-driven analytics, and video encoding/decoding . Industry Knowledge: Proven success in OTT, live streaming, AdTech, and digital content monetization . Leadership: Strong ability to scale teams, drive innovation, and align tech with business growth . Strategic Thinker: Ability to anticipate industry trends, leverage AI/ML for optimization, and future-proof infrastructure .
