Key Responsibilities: Vendor Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, strategic relationships with existing and potential vendors. Act as the primary liaison for vendor communications, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively. Vendor Selection and Evaluation: Identify and assess potential vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and capacity to meet the companys requirements for heavy machinery components. Conduct site visits and audits to ensure vendors meet stringent industry standards and regulatory requirements. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure the best possible pricing, quality, and service levels. Draft, review, and manage vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with all agreed terms. Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement vendor performance metrics and KPIs. Regularly review and assess vendor performance, addressing any issues and implementing corrective actions as needed. Cost Management: Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality and delivery performance. Implement cost-saving initiatives and track their impact on the overall supply chain budget. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with internal departments, including procurement, engineering, and production, to understand and meet their material and component needs. Provide regular reports and updates on vendor performance and development activities to senior management. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure that contingency plans are in place to handle supply disruptions. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in vendor management and heavy machinery manufacturing. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and relationships. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the heavy machinery manufacturing industry. Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier evaluation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and supply chain management software. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
