We’re looking for a Legal Researcher who combines analytical depth with curiosity and precision — someone eager to explore how technology can make law more accessible and transparent. Role Overview As a Legal Researcher at Veaver, you’ll play a key role in collecting, structuring, and validating legal and policy data that powers our AI models and user-facing products. You’ll work closely with our research leads, product managers, and AI engineers to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and clarity of legal information presented through Veaver. Key Responsibilities 1. Legal & Policy Research Source, review, and summarise laws, rules, regulations, and judgments from Indian and international jurisdictions. Draft concise, structured notes and metadata that make legal information accessible to non-legal audiences. Monitor updates to statutes and judicial developments across sectors such as corporate, data privacy, fintech, and consumer protection. 2. Data Structuring & Quality Tag and organise legal documents using Veaver’s data taxonomy and ontology. Collaborate with AI teams to improve classification and summarisation accuracy. Maintain high standards of factual precision and neutrality in all published information. 3. Collaboration with Product & AI Teams Translate research findings into usable datasets and insights for the product and AI teams. Participate in defining validation benchmarks for AI models analysing legal content. Provide legal interpretation context for model training and testing. 4. Contribution to Knowledge & Learning Support in preparing internal knowledge reports, briefs, and explainers. Participate in legal-tech innovation discussions and contribute ideas for improving user experience. Engage with mentors and senior researchers to develop legal-tech and data literacy skills. Ideal Candidate Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s in Law (LL.B. / LL.M.) or related field. 3–6 years of experience in legal research, law-firm knowledge teams, policy think-tanks, or editorial roles in law/policy domains. Strong understanding of Indian legal systems and comfort navigating primary legal sources. Familiarity with research databases such as SCC, Manupatra, LexisNexis, or official government repositories. Excellent written communication — able to translate complex legal text into structured, accessible content. A plus if you’ve worked with data annotation, research automation, or AI-based legal tools.
