Job Description

Key responsibilities

Staff management:
Supervise and train MRD staff, including conducting performance evaluations and ensuring staff follow ethical work practices.
Record management:
Oversee the collection, indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposal of patient records to ensure they are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
Data security and confidentiality:
Implement and monitor procedures to protect patient data privacy and confidentiality in compliance with regulations.
Compliance and quality assurance:
Ensure the department adheres to hospital policies, legal requirements, and accreditation standards (like NABH/NABL). This includes conducting internal audits.
Interdepartmental coordination:
Liaise with other hospital departments, such as doctors and nurses, to ensure records are updated and completed in a timely manner.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit regular statistical reports, such as monthly and annual reports, to management.
Digitization and archiving:
Manage the digitization and long-term archiving of patient records.
Medico-legal support:
Handle requests for medical records from external agencies or during legal proceedings, following established protocols.
