IntroductionLooking for a self-motivated, critical thinker with a passion for accounting and problem-solving. Entrata Software is seeking a dynamic Utility Auditor to join our team in Pune, India/Remote. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring meticulous accounts payable practices for utility billing, utilizing your sharp analytical skills and accounting expertise. Your proactive approach to identifying discrepancies, collaborating with utility providers, and adhering to industry standards will play a pivotal role in upholding accuracy and excellence in our utility management solutions.Responsibilities will includeAccounting/Financial Knowledge:Apply your in-depth understanding of accounting principles to meticulously audit utility consumption data and billing statements, ensuring accuracy and complianceCritical Thinking:Employ sharp critical thinking skills to identify anomalies, discrepancies, and potential errors in utility billing records and dataProblem-Solving:Be a proactive problem solver, investigating and resolving billing discrepancies and consumption data anomalies swiftly and effectivelySelf-Starter:Take ownership of the utility auditing process, independently initiating audits, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing process enhancementsAccounts Payable Practices:Play a key role in meticulous accounts payable practices by validating utility billing information, tracking invoices, and ensuring timely and accurate processingUtility Provider Collaboration: Interact and collaborate with utility providers to validate billing data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationshipsData Analysis:Utilize your data analysis skills to generate comprehensive reports and actionable insights regarding utility usage, costs, and trendsCollaborative Communication:Engage in effective communication with utility providers, and internal stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns with clarity and professionalismRegulatory Compliance:Stay at the forefront of utility regulations and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practicesInnovative Approaches:Contribute your innovative mindset to the development and improvement of utility auditing procedures, continuously optimizing processesTraining and Knowledge Sharing: Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growthMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field2+ years of experience in accounts payable, auditing, or related roles, showcasing your attention to detail and accounting proficiencyProficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools, harnessing data for accurate audits and insightful reportingExcellent Communication Skills (English Language) both written and verbal.  Ability to connect with people across departmentsDemonstrated ability in critical thinking and problem-solving, evident through your track record of resolving complex discrepanciesProven ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive projects forward with minimal supervisionPreferred QualificationsProperty Management Insight: Previous experience in the property management or real estate industry, offering familiarity with industry-specific utility practicesUtility Billing Software Knowledge: Familiarity with utility billing systems and software, enabling efficient data management and analysisUtility Industry Standards: Knowledge of utility industry standards and best practices, ensuring accurate and compliant utility billing practicesRegulatory Familiarity: Familiarity with utility regulations and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practicesInvoice Interpretation: Ability to interpret utility invoices and contracts, applying your analytical skills to ensure precisionBasic understanding of SQL queries limited to data collectionNote:This role requires working night shifts to accommodate the time zone difference with clients based in the United States. Exceptional English-speaking skills are essential to effectively communicate with clients and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
