Job Description

About the Company

Floydwiz Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Role Summary

We’re hiring User Insight Specialist who can deeply understand how users interact with our Android-based operating system and our Cloud PC offering. This role goes beyond taking notes — you must interpret user behavior, understand computing workflows, identify underlying problems, and translate them into clear product opportunities.

You will be directly responsible for shaping the evolution of PrimeOS, Cloud PC, and future products and features by extracting real user truth from our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous user interviews across:

  • Cloud PC usage (performance, session behavior, tasks, gaps)
  • OS-level workflows (file manager, browser, input methods, UI flows)
  • Upcoming features, products, and system changes
  • Understand what users are

    trying to accomplish

, not just what they say.
  • Break down user tasks: development, design, productivity, browsing, file operations, education workflows, Windows-only use cases, etc.

  • Identify friction caused by:

  • OS behavior
  • system limitations
  • device constraints
  • network/system assumptions
  • unclear UI patterns
  • Uncover real root causes behind churn, non-repurchase, low engagement, or unused features.
  • Build structured insights that help engineering + product make decisions fast.

  • Maintain a clear categorization of problems:

  • usability performance missing features

  • misunderstood mental models

  • onboarding issues
  • value mismatch
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to close feedback loops.
  • Own the research backlog for the entire operating system + Cloud PC.

  • Develop playbooks:

  • persona types
  • job-to-be-done maps
  • task flows across PrimeOS and Cloud PC
  • churn reasons
  • activation blockers
  • Present distilled insights (not reports) with clarity, ranking problem severity and business impact.

What This Role MUST Be Able to Do

This is not a “survey admin” or “note-taking” job. The ideal person must:

  • Understand computing concepts: input systems, file systems, app workflows, latency, UI state transitions, errors, performance degradation.
  • Understand how users solve problems across OS, apps, and cloud tools.
  • Translate vague user complaints (“it’s slow”, “it hangs”, “I couldn’t open my file”) into

    precise technical categories

    .

  • Recognize when users are describing:

  • network issues
  • OS-level UX problems
  • Cloud PC configuration issues
  • app-layer friction
  • hardware limitations
  • Know the difference between what users say and what they actually mean and how to get them to express what they mean.

Derive actionable steps, not documentation dumps.

Requirements

  • At least 0-1 year of experience in UX research, product interviews, or user insights.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret workflows, not just collect feedback.
  • Good understanding of computing basics:
  • apps vs OS
  • local vs cloud
  • file operations
  • networks/internet behavior
  • windows/mac/android paradigms
  • performance bottlenecks
  • Experience talking to technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to perform 1:1 interviews and convert them into structured, actionable insight.
  • Clear communication in English + Hindi.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and point out hidden issues users don’t verbalize.
  • Comfortable working with PMs, designers, and developers in a fast iterative environment.

Nice-to-Have

  • Research experience for operating systems, browsers, dev tools, or education tech.
  • Familiarity with VDI/remote computing concepts (latency, compression, input lag, file transfer flows).
  • Exposure to Android ecosystem or lightweight OS environments.

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently uncover and explain user problems the team didn’t see.
  • Your insights directly influence feature decisions, UX flows, and engineering priorities.
  • You can map how a user is solving a task step-by-step — locally, in Cloud PC, or across apps.
  • You can predict user confusion before it happens.
  • Repeat user complaints decrease because issues are understood and solved upstream.
  • Product decisions become more evidence-backed and less assumption-driven.
