Job Description Bachelor(s) degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Min.experience of 4-10 years in industrial safety, preferably in bio-fertilizer, chemical, or agriculture-related manufacturing environments. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, local safety standards, and environmental regulations. Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations. Certification in safety management, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent is highly desirable. Experience with hazardous materials management, chemical safety, and emergency response planning. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify safety issues and develop effective solutions. Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or other relevant safety and environmental management systems Roles & Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies. Oversee the safety of all plant operations, including handling, storage, and disposal of biofertilizer, chemicals, and hazardous materials. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive actions. Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), local safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Lead safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external safety standards. Collaborate with the production, maintenance, and utility teams to ensure that all safety measures are in place and adhered to during plant operations. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, including emergency response, fire safety, first aid, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and job-specific hazards. Monitor and enforce the use of PPE, safe work practices, and equipment handling procedures to reduce the risk of injury. Manage and review the safety documentation, including permits, safety data sheets (SDS), training records, and compliance certifications. Implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant safety performance and reduce workplace risks. Lead emergency preparedness activities, including the development of emergency response plans and coordination of drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation). Work closely with contractors and vendors to ensure they comply with the plants safety protocols Keep up to date with changes in safety regulations and implement necessary updates to the plants safety program. Report safety metrics to senior management, including incidents, near-misses, and compliance status, and make recommendations for improvements.
