About Unstract Unstract is an open-source, no-code platform that helps enterprises automate complex, document-centric business processes with the latest in AI and Large Language Models. Users design prompts, ingest documents from dozens of sources, and deploy high-throughput extraction or ETL workflows without writing code. We offer the platform in three editions: a fully managed Unstract Cloud, and self-hosted On-Prem and Open-Source variants. Cloud customers get a turnkey SaaS experience, while on-prem customers install our micro-services stack on any Kubernetes-compatible infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, or bare-metal). Unstract is independently audited for SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 compliance, so reliability and security are core to our mission. The Role You’ll join a small, high-impact DevOps/SRE team that owns end-to-end infrastructure—Terraform code, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, observability, security hardening, and the customer on-call experience. Your mandate is to keep both our multi-tenant cloud and numerous customer on-prem deployments rock-solid and auditable. Key Responsibilities On-call ownership (≈2 weeks every 2 months) – triage production incidents, lead rapid mitigation, write post-mortems, and drive follow-up fixes and automation. Infrastructure-as-Code – evolve and review Terraform modules that provision EKS/GKE/AKS as well as air-gapped, self-managed clusters. Kubernetes operations – upgrade clusters and CRDs, tune autoscalers, manage Helm charts, and enforce network/security policies. CI/CD & GitOps – maintain GitHub Actions (or equivalent) pipelines, image registries, and ArgoCD/Flux deploy flows for all editions. Observability – extend Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and Alertmanager stacks; instrument new services; define SLIs/SLOs. Security & compliance – patch CVEs, run container/image scans, and supply evidence for SOC 2/HIPAA audits. Customer enablement – pair with solution engineers on tricky on-prem roll-outs, write runbooks, and contribute to documentation. Cost & performance engineering – optimise cluster sizing, storage classes, and LLM-heavy workloads to hit latency and cost targets. Minimum Qualifications 4–6 years in DevOps, SRE or Cloud Ops roles, with demonstrable on-call rotations. Deep hands-on experience operating production Kubernetes clusters (EKS/GKE/AKS or bare-metal). Proficient in Terraform and one major cloud provider (AWS preferred). Solid CI/CD skills (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar). Comfort with Linux, container networking, shell/Python/Go scripting, and observability tooling (Prometheus stack, ELK/Loki, etc.). Clear, concise communicator able to write incident reports and infra docs. Nice-to-Haves Helm, ArgoCD/Flux, Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd), or HashiCorp Vault expertise. Contributions to open-source DevOps or CNCF projects. Why Unstract? Impact & Ownership – you’ll shape the reliability posture of a platform processing millions of pages per day. Modern Stack – green-field IaC, Kubernetes, GitOps and AI workloads. Remote-first & Flexible – asynchronous culture, generous PTO, home-office stipend. Professional Growth – work at the intersection of DevOps, MLOps, and document AI with experienced founders and an active open-source community.
