Job Summary:

Unit Head Finance

Roles & Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Control

  • Develop and implement

    annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans

    for the unit in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor

    revenue, cost, and profitability metrics

    , ensuring achievement of financial targets.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across departments without compromising service quality.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring

    timely closure of books, reconciliations, and statutory audits

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    statutory requirements

    (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Income Tax, and other regulatory norms).
  • Maintain adherence to

    corporate finance policies, internal controls, and audit guidelines

    .
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for audit completion and timely resolution of observations.

Revenue Cycle & Cash Flow Management

  • Supervise

    billing, receivables, and payables

    to ensure efficient cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with

    Operations, Billing, and Patient Care

    teams to ensure transparency in billing and collection processes.
  • Review credit approvals, insurance claim settlements, and corporate tie-up billings.
  • Ensure strong financial controls over hospital income streams (IP, OP, pharmacy, diagnostics, F&B, etc.).

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Partner with the

    Unit Head and Corporate Finance

    to develop strategies for business growth and sustainability.
  • Participate in

    capex planning, feasibility studies, and ROI analysis

    for new projects or expansions.
  • Support operational decision-making with

    financial data insights and scenario analysis

    .
  • Represent the unit in all corporate financial discussions, reviews, and strategic initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals ensuring skill enhancement and efficiency.
  • Establish clear KPIs and review mechanisms for the finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, process adherence, and continuous improvement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Achievement of unit financial targets (Revenue, EBITDA, Cost)
  • Cash flow management efficiency
  • Compliance and audit performance
  • Cost optimization and budget variance control

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of

    hospital/healthcare financial systems and processes

  • Analytical thinking with strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of

    SAP/ERP financial modules

  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive financial discipline
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
