We have been mandated by a large conglomerate into Building Material industry for the below mentioned role. Position Name : Unit Head - Cement Plant Location : Anywhere in South India / North India / East India Qualification: BE / B. Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Industry preference: Experience in cement industry Experience: 20 + years Key Responsibilities: Total Manufacturing Cost and other key cost elements Ensure all plant operations meet the defined performance expectations. Lead improvement initiatives in plant and long-term plant development Managing internal and external stakeholders with respect to the strategic imperatives of the business Ensure compliance to policy mandates as applicable Ensure that right kind of talent and skills is available for plant on management and shop floor level Production Management: Ensure all plant operations meet the defined performance expectations. Supervising the production process, including raw material preparation, clinker production, and cement grinding, to ensure quality output. Safety Compliance: Implementing and enforcing safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. Quality Control: Monitoring product quality through regular testing and inspections to meet industry standards and customer expectations. Lead improvement initiatives in plant and long-term plant development. Maintenance: Coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Cost Management: Total Manufacturing Cost and other key cost elements Optimizing operational costs by managing resources effectively, controlling waste, and implementing cost-saving measures. Environmental Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations by implementing sustainable practices and minimizing environmental impact. Team Leadership: Leading and motivating a diverse team of employees, including engineers, technicians, and operators, to achieve production goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance plant performance, increase productivity, and capitalize on market opportunities. Stakeholder Management: Managing internal and external stakeholders with respect to the strategic imperatives of the business Liaising with internal stakeholders such as corporate management, as well as external stakeholders including regulators, suppliers, and local communities. Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency gains through data analysis, innovation, and technology adoption. Ensure that right kind of talent and skills is available for plant on management and shop floor level
