Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative Oversight:

    • Manage the daily operational activities of the unit, ensuring that administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
    • Facilitate scheduling for staff shifts, including nurses and support staff, while ensuring adequate coverage.
    • Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment, coordinating with vendors as necessary.
  2. Financial Management:

    • Assist in budget preparation and management, monitoring expenses, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
    • Track and report on financial performance metrics to ensure budget adherence.
  3. Human Resources:

    • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new staff within the unit.
    • Assist in performance evaluations and ongoing staff development initiatives.
    • Address staff concerns and conflicts, promoting a positive work environment.
  4. Policy and Procedure Development:

    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and accreditation standards.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of unit-specific policies and procedures.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Collaborate with clinical staff to monitor and enhance patient care quality and safety.
    • Analyze performance metrics and patient feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  6. Communication and Coordination:

    • Serve as a point of contact between the unit and other departments, promoting effective interdepartmental communication.
    • Coordinate with medical staff regarding patient care, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
  7. Patient Services:

    • Oversee patient admission and discharge processes, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
    • Address patient and family concerns, providing assistance with navigating hospital services.
  8. Data Management:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, reports, and administrative documents.
    • Generate and analyze reports related to unit operations, patient outcomes, and staff performance.
  9. Project Management:

    • Lead or participate in special projects aimed at improving unit efficiency, patient care, or staff satisfaction.
    • Implement change initiatives and monitor their impact on unit operations.
  10. Training and Development:

    • Organize staff training programs, workshops, and meetings to promote continuous professional development.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the unit's practices are current.
  11. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure that the unit complies with health and safety regulations and best practices.
    • Monitor infection control protocols and participate in safety audits as required.
