Underwriting Manager - Motor

Job Purpose

• Pricing of all Motor products aligned to market for generating sustainable portfolio volume so as loss ratios are also achieved based on companys budget.
• Market research and connect with all OEM channels to understand current trends on pricing.
• Effectively managing pan India pricing & control deviation book by maintaining control and regular changes to meet desired results.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Strategic:

• In-depth understanding of

  motor product & market

  .
• Market intelligence in terms of

  OEM & Non OEM channel

  operating ways.

• Work closely with Portfolio underwriters

  to ensure sustainable profitable growth is maintained by taking correct pricing decisions.
• Formulate all

  retail product pricing guidelines

  to ensure that Underwriting strategy is aligned to that of the total organization.
• Review system mechanism and improvisation of entire process & look at automation.

Financial:

• Complete ownership of motor product Pricing

  & simulation showing clear path by doing

  impact analysis on pricing changes.

• Pricing market intelligence

  to be built further and decisions taken will be based on our experience where profitability and business both are maintained.
• Provide inputs to balance the portfolio with portfolio underwriters basis the analysis of underwriting data to ensure alignment of the underwriting philosophy to business strategy.

Functional/ Operational:

• Review and make necessary changes in negative cohorts quickly.
• Automation of process to be done where rule engine can start taking decisions.
• Compliance towards all filed rates and on periodic basis initiate filing to be compliant.

People:

• Understand market movement from various sources specially portfolio and market underwriting team in a way that develops a high-performance culture and engaged workforce.
• Provide continuous support to the team and ensure that they receive appropriate guidance on pricing deviation and its impact on P & L.
