Follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any supply disruptions. · Cost Control & Optimization: · Continuously identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product/service quality. · Analyze market trends to identify new suppliers, materials, and opportunities for procurement optimization. Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) and recommend sourcing strategies accordingly. · Inventory & Logistics Coordination: · Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to align procurement schedules with inventory and production needs. · Monitor inventory levels to avoid both shortages and excess stock. Support logistics and import/export processes where applicable, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations. · Compliance & Documentation: · Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and legal regulations. · Maintain complete and accurate documentation of purchase records, supplier contracts, and performance reports. Participate in audits and ensure adherence to ISO or quality management systems (if applicable). · Cross-functional Collaboration: · Collaborate with finance to ensure timely supplier payments and budget adherence. · Support engineering, production, and project teams in sourcing specialized materials or services. Provide market intelligence and supplier insights to assist in decision-making and strategic planning. Qualifications & Competencies: · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. · Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles (preferably in a manufacturing environment). · Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Dashboards) and Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle JDE, or equivalent. · Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract terms, and vendor evaluation. Good understanding of international sourcing and import/export documentation (if applicable). · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. · Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities. · High degree of integrity, professionalism, and accountability. Work Environment: · Office-based role in Dehradun with frequent collaboration with internal departments including Production, Plant Maintenance, Tool Room (MMM) Quality Assurance, Warehousing, Procurement, Exim, Finance and HR. · Dynamic and deadline-driven environment requiring high adaptability and responsiveness.
