Role & responsibilities Performing Laboratory Tests: HLA Typing: Performing HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) typing to identify compatibility between donors and recipients. Cross-Matching: Conducting cross-matching to assess the presence of antibodies in the recipient's serum that could cause rejection of the donor organ. Antibody Detection: Identifying and quantifying donor-specific antibodies (DSA) that can lead to graft rejection. Flow Cytometry: Utilizing flow cytometry to analyze immune cells and identify specific populations. ELISA: Performing Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA) to detect and quantify specific antibodies or antigens. Specimen Handling and Processing: Collecting, labeling, and processing blood and tissue samples for testing. Ensuring proper storage and preservation of samples. Quality Control and Assurance: Performing quality control checks on reagents and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results. Maintaining accurate records of test results and procedures. Collaboration and Communication: Communicating test results and findings to transplant physicians and other healthcare professionals. Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's degree in biology, immunology, or a related field. Experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably with experience in immunology or hematology.
