Job Description: TGT Mathematics Teacher

Position Overview

The Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Mathematics is responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction to middle and secondary school students (generally classes VI–X). The role involves fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in mathematical concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery
• Teach Mathematics as per CBSE curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assignments.
• Use innovative teaching methods (digital tools, activities, projects).
• Student Engagement
• Encourage logical reasoning and critical thinking.
• Provide individual support to struggling learners.
• Conduct math-related activities, quizzes, and competitions.
• Assessment & Evaluation
• Design and evaluate tests, assignments, and projects.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Classroom Management
• Create a positive and disciplined learning environment.
• Ensure inclusivity and equal participation of all students.
• Professional Development
• Stay updated with modern teaching practices and educational technology.
• Participate in workshops, training sessions, and school events.
• experience 5-10 years

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics (or related subject).
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory.
• CTET/STET qualification preferred (depending on board requirements).
• Prior teaching experience in middle/secondary school is desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong subject knowledge in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, and Calculus (basic level).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts for students.
• Classroom management and student mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in using smart boards, online teaching platforms, and digital tools.
