Job Title: Middle School Teacher

Job Overview: As a middle school teacher, you are responsible for nurturing the academic, social, and emotional development of young children. You create a positive learning environment where students can explore, learn, and grow. The role involves planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support each child's educational journey.

Main Roles & Responsibilities: Specific duties and responsibilities of the Middle School Teacher will include as follows, but will not be limited to the following

1. Curriculum Development and Implementation:

  • Design engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with the curriculum of relevant subject area.  
  • Organize field trips aligned with the curriculum to provide hands-on learning experiences.
  • Foster values and independent thinking among students through experiential learning.
  • Incorporate innovative teaching strategies to enhance student-learning experiences. 
  • Regularly assess and revise teaching materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. 

2. Student Assessment and Support:

  • Assess individual student progress through formative and summative assessments, update student scores on S.I.S, and Share point accurately and promptly. 
  • Communicate with parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings to understand students' backgrounds and update parents on their progress.
  • Analyse assessment data to identify areas for improvement and tailor instruction accordingly as well as provide oral/ written reports for FA and SA data along with Instructional Coach and D.P to support student learning and growth.
  • Collaborate and work with R.T.I teachers and co-curricular teachers to refine and implement an integrated curriculum.
  • Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding. 

3. Collaboration with Class Teachers and Parallel Teachers: 

  • Coordinate with class teachers to support students' overall development. 
  • Work collaboratively with parallel teachers to maintain consistency across grade levels. 
  • Share best practices and resources to foster a collaborative teaching environment. 
  • Establish rapport and professional relationships with students, staff and parents.

4. Classroom Management and Environment:

  • Ensure classrooms are safe, positive, and nurturing environments conducive to learning.
  • Contribute to help and assign students to showcase their learning by displaying their work throughout the class that align with the curriculum.
  • Model appropriate behaviour and communication while enforcing school rules and values.
  • Supervise students during transitions, including walking with them to and from the dining hall and during dispersal to ensure their safety and well-being.

5. Event Organization and Participation: 

  • Organize events and competitions such as Olympiads/ fests, inter and intra school competitions etc. to foster curiosity in the students and develop their competitiveness.
  • Actively participate in school events like sports day, annual day, and children's day to foster a sense of community and school spirit. 
  • Assist in organizing and supervising extracurricular activities to enrich students' learning experiences. 

6. Other Important tasks:

  • Creating resources that align with the annual plan and curriculum objectives. 
  • Conducting notebook checks and providing constructive feedback to students. 
  • Designing and displaying educational charts in classrooms to facilitate learning. 
  • Attending staff and department meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with educational trends. 
  • Submitting documentation and adhering to deadlines as required by the school administration. 
  • Participating in lunch/break duties, and arrival and departure duties to ensure student safety and well-being. 
  • Serving on committees and fulfilling house duties as assigned by the school management. 
  • Act as a substitution teacher for other teachers in their absence as per the requirements.
  • Maintain regular attendance during all scheduled school days and on those Saturdays when attendance is required for a school and / or staff event /workshop.
  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Participate in invigilation and evaluation duties as per the requirements.
  • Prepare students for events like Sports days, Class assembly, Annual days, and STEM & Literary Fests.
  • Complete appraisal documents and submit them to the immediate Supervisor as part of professional development requirements.
  • Reflect on teaching practices and contribute to school-wide reviews of policies and aims.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, grades, and other relevant data.
  • Pastoral care and student management:

•Must have good classroom management skills to deal with adolescent students.

  • Should be able to understand the psychological needs of the students and extend pastoral care to the students.

•Be empathetic towards the needs of the students and be able to understand their emotional state to work with them.

•Train students to develop life skills and literacy skills to help them cope with the dynamic world.

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject, education, or related field. 
  • Proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking. 
  • Previous experience in teaching the relevant subject at the middle/high School level preferred. 
  • Competent in using computers, adept at working on MS Word, Excel, PPT etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans and teaching materials.
  • Understanding of curriculum development and implementation.
  • A high level of professionalism and growth mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
