Textile Sample Incharge

Role Overview: As a Textiles Sample Incharge, your responsibilities will include managing the end-to-end process of textile sampling to ensure the timely development and delivery of high-quality samples that meet buyer requirements. You will serve as a crucial liaison between the design, production, and merchandising teams. Key Responsibilities: - Receive sampling requirements from the merchandising or design team. - Prepare a sample plan based on the buyer's calendar. - Allocate sampling work to tailors/pattern makers as needed. - Coordinate with fabric, trims, and accessory departments to ensure the availability of raw materials. - Supervise the sample development process, including pattern making, cutting, stitching, and finishing. - Ensure that samples meet specifications in terms of fabric, design, fit, and quality. - Conduct fit sessions and implement technical changes if necessary. - Inspect and approve samples before submission to buyers or design teams. - Ensure consistency and accuracy across sample sizes and types. - Identify potential production issues based on sample feedback. - Maintain sample records, sample tracking sheets, buyer comments, and revisions. - Establish a systematic library of approved and rejected samples. - Supervise and guide sampling tailors, helpers, and related staff. - Provide training to team members on buyer expectations and technical specifications. Qualifications Required: - In-depth knowledge of garment/textile sampling process. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Attention to detail and quality consciousness. - Basic knowledge of pattern making, fabrics, trims, and construction techniques. - Ability to interpret tech packs and buyer comments. - Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word); familiarity with PLM or ERP systems is a plus. - Good communication and interpersonal skills.
