Job Description

About the Role:

Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Planning & Documentation

Understand project requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
Estimate testing efforts and participate in sprint planning.

2. Test Execution

Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Execute manual test cases or automated test scripts (based on role).
Conduct UI, API, performance, and compatibility tests as required.

3. Bug Reporting & Tracking

Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, Trello, or similar.
Work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
Re-test and verify fixes in successive builds.

4. Automation

Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Python, Java, TestNG, or similar tools.
Ensure reusable and maintainable automation frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in automation testing using Selenium, Appium, or Cypress.
Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, JMeter).
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Experience testing mobile or web applications.
Familiarity with performance testing tools.
