Job Description: Assistant General Manager (AGM) Tendering Transmission Line Projects Position Overview: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Tendering will lead the tendering and proposal development processes for transmission line projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical and commercial expertise in the power transmission industry. The AGM will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of competitive bids that align with company goals and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: Tender Management: Review tender documents, specifications, and contract terms to assess feasibility and risk. Develop comprehensive tender strategies that maximize competitiveness and profitability. Coordinate pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions. Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of detailed technical and commercial proposals for transmission line projects. Ensure all bid submissions are compliant with client requirements and industry standards. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and timelines. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the transmission line sector. Benchmark against competitors to refine tendering strategies and offerings. Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to clarify technical and commercial requirements. Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and delivery schedules. Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks associated with tender submissions and project execution. Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of all tendering activities, including submissions, clarifications, and post-bid evaluations. Provide regular updates to senior management on tendering progress, challenges, and outcomes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent will be an added advantage. Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in tendering, cost estimation, or project management within the power transmission industry. Proven expertise in preparing bids for large-scale transmission line projects (EPC or turnkey). Strong understanding of transmission line design, construction, and associated technologies. Familiarity with international and local tendering standards, including FIDIC and other contract frameworks. Key Skills and Competencies: Excellent project management and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in tendering software and tools (e.g., SAP, Primavera, MS Project). Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Ability to lead and motivate a cross-functional team. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Win rate of submitted bids. Accuracy of cost estimates vs. actual project costs. Timeliness of bid submissions. Client satisfaction and feedback on bid quality. Contribution to revenue growth through successful project awards.
