SummaryThe Automation Architect (Level 8 and above) is a senior leadership role responsible for designing and architecting automation solutions for enterprise clients. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and exceptional client engagement skills to deliver optimized automation strategies that align with business objectives. The role demands proficiency in modern automation tools, cloud platforms, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, along with the ability to lead transformation initiatives across complex environments.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesDefine and architect automation approaches tailored to client needs, recommending best-fit tools and frameworks for optimal outcomes.Lead client interactions with strong communication and storytelling capabilities to articulate automation strategies and business value.Conduct assessments to evaluate client automation readiness and identify improvement opportunities.Drive automation projects using agile principles, sprint planning, and scrum boards on JIRA or similar tools.Implement IaC tools (e.g., Git, SVN, Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Rundeck.Design automation solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware private cloud environments.Integrate IaC security tools, vaulting mechanisms, and enforce secure coding practices.Guide teams on coding standards and best practices in Python, Shell scripting, Ansible, and JavaScript.Professional and Technical Skills - Must Have12+ years of experience in automation and infrastructure transformation.Proven ability to design and architect automation solutions for enterprise clients.Expertise in agile delivery models and tools like JIRA.Strong knowledge of IaC tools (Git, SVN, Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Rundeck).Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware private cloud.Familiarity with IaC security tools and vaulting solutions.Proficiency in coding languages:Python, Shell scripting, Ansible, JavaScript.Professional and Technical Skills - Good to HaveUnderstanding of infrastructure architecture across networks, storage, compute, and hosting.Experience with REST API integrations and JSON.Skills in Python and prompt engineering.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Packer).Familiarity with immutable infrastructure and serverless technologies.Awareness of SAST/DAST principles for secure development.Exposure to AI/ML tools and concepts.DevOps cloud certification.Conceptual or practical knowledge of SLO, SLI, toil reduction, error budgets, and chaos engineering.Additional InformationLevel:L8 and above (Senior Leadership).Experience:Minimum 12 years in automation and infrastructure transformation.Certifications:Mandatory cloud certifications; DevOps certification preferred.Soft Skills:
