Project Role Description Resolve incidents and problems across multiple business system components and ensure operational stability. Create and implement Requests for Change (RFC) and update knowledge base articles to support effective troubleshooting. Summary:Azure APIM Administrator to manage and support our API infrastructure using Azure API Management. This role is responsible for configuring API gateways, maintaining security policies, monitoring performance, and ensuring high availability of API services across development, staging, and production environments.
Azure API Management (APIM) AdministrationManaging APIs, products, policies, and subscriptions within the Azure APIM platform.API Integration KnowledgeUnderstanding REST/SOAP APIs, authentication, and data formats (JSON, XML).
Roles and Responsibilities:Administer and maintain Azure API Management (APIM) services, including APIs, products, subscriptions, and users.Configure and manage APIM policies (XML) for transformation, authentication, rate limiting, caching, and routing.Implement and manage API security mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, Azure Active Directory (AAD), client certificates, and IP filtering.Monitor API performance, health, and usage using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.Perform versioning, revisions, and lifecycle management of APIs in APIM.Collaborate with API developers and integration teams to onboard and manage APIs effectively.Manage developer portal settings, user roles, and access to APIs and products.Ensure governance, compliance, and documentation of all APIM configurations.Automate APIM configuration deployments using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform as part of CI/CD pipelines.Troubleshoot and resolve APIM-related issues across environments.Maintain backup, recovery, and failover procedures for APIM services.Professional and
Technical Experience:Hands-on experience managing and administering Azure API Management (APIM) services, including API creation, configuration, versioning, and lifecycle management.Proficient in authoring and managing APIM policies for security, transformation, throttling, caching, and routing (using XML-based policy expressions).Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger).Experience implementing and managing API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens, Azure Active Directory (AAD), client certificates, and IP filtering.Familiarity with Azure ecosystem components like Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for monitoring, logging, and alerting.Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, and Terraform to automate APIM deployments and configuration.Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to support automated deployment of API proxies and policies.Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve API gateway issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC) and managing user permissions within Azure and APIM.Familiarity with developer portal management, including user roles, subscriptions, and onboarding processes.Exposure to related Azure services such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Application Gateway is a plus.Minimum of XX years or more of experience in a similar role.Proven experience with middleware design .Familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms.Education Qualification:B.E/B Tech/MCA or above.
Additional Information:The candidate should have a minimum of XX years and more of experience on administering Azure API Management (APIM).Proficiency in configuring API policies for transformation, security, and traffic control.Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications.Experience managing Azure resources like Key Vault, Application Gateway, Azure AD, and Logic Apps.Familiarity with identity and access control (RBAC, Azure AD B2C/B2B, JWT).Skilled in monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure-native tools.Experience using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM, Bicep, Terraform) to deploy and manage APIM.Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in API environments.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Microsoft Azure certification (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-204, or AZ-305).Experience with DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for APIM deployment automation.Knowledge of CI/CD, governance, and API lifecycle best practices.Experience with containerized environments and service mesh (AKS, Istio, etc.) is a plus.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.Good problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.Certification is a plus.A 15 years full time education is required.This position is based at our Kolkata office
