Role & responsibilities Operating CT and MRI Machines Conduct scans following physician orders. Patient Preparation – Explain procedures, position patients, and ensure their comfort. Adjusting Equipment Settings – Modify parameters based on patient needs and medical conditions. Ensuring Image Quality – Capture clear, diagnostic-quality images for radiologists. Administering Contrast Agents – Inject or provide oral contrast media as needed, following safety protocols. Radiation Safety (for CT scans) – Minimize radiation exposure by following proper shielding techniques. Troubleshooting Equipment Issues – Identify and report any technical problems with imaging machines. Patient Care Responsibilities: Ensuring Patient Safety – Check for contraindications like metal implants (for MRI) or allergies to contrast agents. Monitoring Patient Condition – Observe patients during scans and respond to discomfort or emergencies. Providing Post-Scan Instructions – Inform patients about any post-procedure guidelines. Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities: Maintaining Patient Records – Accurately document scan details and patient history. Collaborating with Healthcare Teams – Work with radiologists, physicians, and nurses to ensure proper diagnosis.
