Job Summary:

The Production Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. This role includes ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Production Technician will work closely with other team members to ensure efficient and effective production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Operation:
  2. Operate pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment such as mixers, blenders, granulators, tablet presses, and packaging machines.
  3. Monitor equipment during operation to ensure optimal performance and identify any issues.
  4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  5. Perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions and escalate major issues to the maintenance team.
  7. Ensure equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to SOPs.
  8. Production Processes:
  9. Follow batch records, manufacturing instructions, and SOPs to produce pharmaceutical products.
  10. Measure and weigh ingredients accurately and load them into production equipment.
  11. Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  12. Quality Control:
  13. Conduct in-process checks and inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
  14. Document production data accurately and promptly in logbooks and electronic systems.
  15. Report any deviations or non-conformities to the production supervisor.
  16. Safety and Compliance:
  17. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  18. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols.
  19. Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA regulations, and company policies.
  20. Documentation and Reporting:
  21. Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
  22. Complete production reports and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  23. Participate in regular training sessions and stay updated on industry best practices.
  24. Team Collaboration:
  25. Work collaboratively with other production team members to achieve production goals.
  26. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  27. Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GMP and FDA regulations.
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and SOPs.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working in a controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the production schedule.
