Job Description: Sewing Training Academy Manager – FIBC Jumbo Bags Manufacturing Location: Tumkur Industry: FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) Manufacturing About Us: This company is a leading manufacturer of FIBC Jumbo Bags with a robust manufacturing setup. We are on a mission to scale our production capacity by developing a highly skilled workforce of tailors specialized in manufacturing FIBC jumbo bags. Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sewing Training Academy Manager to establish and lead a comprehensive training program designed to recruit, train, assess, and certify 150-200 tailors. Inspired by successful training models like the Toyota Gurukul system, the academy aims to develop tailors from scratch through a structured, step-by-step training methodology. Key Responsibilities: 1. Training Program Design: Develop a systematic training curriculum specifically for manufacturing FIBC jumbo bags. Break down the training process into progressive modules covering fundamentals to advanced sewing techniques. Design training aids, manuals, videos, and SOPs for each module. 2. Training Implementation: Conduct hands-on training sessions for new and existing tailors. Provide training on stitching, quality control, machine handling, safety protocols, and productivity improvement. Monitor progress and ensure alignment with production requirements. 3. Assessment & Certification: Develop a robust assessment system to evaluate trainees’ skills at each stage. Provide feedback, guidance, and coaching to improve skill levels. Certify trainees based on skill mastery and readiness for production deployment. 4. Recruitment & Skill Development: Collaborate with HR to identify, recruit, and onboard new trainees. Establish partnerships with local training institutes, NGOs, and community organizations to attract potential candidates. 5. Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine training modules based on feedback and performance data. Implement productivity improvement techniques and promote a culture of quality and efficiency. 6. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training schedules, assessments, certifications, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to management on training effectiveness and tailor availability. Key Requirements: Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in garment manufacturing or industrial sewing training, preferably with a background in FIBC jumbo bags or related industries. Training Expertise: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale training programs. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical Skills: Ability to assess training effectiveness and optimize training processes. Education: Diploma or Degree in Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related fields is preferred.
