This unique role is perfect for a highly skilled professional with over a decade of industry experience who thrives in a collaborative environment but desires the flexibility of a freelance engagement. You will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring our internal development team during your daily in-office hours. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the technical soundness and successful delivery of our projects. Roles and Responsibilities: On-site Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Provide direct, in-person technical leadership and mentorship to the development team for 3-4 hours daily, assisting with complex coding challenges, architectural discussions, and best practices. Code Quality & Standards: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and guide the team in implementing robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Architectural & Design Consultation: Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to review and refine technical designs and architectural approaches for new features and projects, ensuring alignment with overall system goals. Problem Solving & Roadblock Resolution: Act as a key technical escalation point, helping the team diagnose and resolve critical technical issues and bottlenecks efficiently during your dedicated office hours. Strategic Technical Input: Contribute strategic technical insights to product roadmaps and development plans, leveraging extensive industry experience to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Required Skills & Experience: Extensive Technical Depth (10+ years): Proven track record of 10+ years in software development, with significant experience in a technical lead or senior architect role. Deep expertise in one or more primary programming languages such as [Specify primary language(s) relevant to your stack, e.g., Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript (Node.js/React/Angular), Go, etc.]. Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, microservices, and scalable system design. Proficiency with various database technologies (SQL and NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable. Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate, and mentor development teams, fostering a positive and high-performing environment. Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for direct, in-person interaction and collaboration with the team. Ability to integrate seamlessly into an existing team dynamic and contribute effectively during focused on-site hours. Freelance Mindset: Self-motivated and disciplined to manage freelance commitments while consistently adhering to daily in-office schedules. Understanding of freelance engagement models and professionalism in maintaining contract terms.
