Technical Sales Engineer

Technical Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation Overview: This role demands someone who understands industrial automation and can convert that knowledge into business. Not just a talker someone who can stand in a plant, diagnose what the customer actually needs, and close the deal without hand-holding. Key Responsibilities: Identify and approach potential customers in manufacturing, process plants, OEMs, and system integrators. Conduct on-site visits, product demos, and technical presentations. Understand customer applications, pain points, and propose suitable automation solutions (PLC, SCADA, HMI, drives, sensors, panels, etc.). Prepare accurate techno-commercial offers and solution proposals. Follow up aggressively on enquiries, quotations, and project pipelines. Manage full sales cycle lead generation to order closure. Maintain relationships with existing customers and expand business within accounts. Coordinate with internal engineering/procurement teams for delivery timelines and technical clarifications. Track market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing. Ensure proper documentation: visit reports, enquiry logs, and CRM updates. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related fields. Strong understanding of industrial automation products (PLC/SCADA/HMI/Drives/Sensors). Ability to conduct hands-on demos and application discussions at customer sites. Comfortable traveling frequently for client visits. Sharp communication—clear, concise, technical when needed, direct when closing. Proven experience in technical sales or application engineering is a strong advantage. Self-driven no micromanagement, no babysitting. Preferred: Experience with brands like Siemens, Schneider, Omron, ABB, Mitsubishi, or similar. Exposure to system integrators and OEM environments.
