We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Technical Lead - Intelligent Infrastructure to join the ‘UK iCRC - Intelligent Infrastructure Team to work alongside our UK discipline.We are looking for rounded individuals responsible for planning and managing the delivery of projects, including adequacy of design, compliance with standards and legislation, resource time, cost and quality. The position will report to the Head of the Discipline.Locations:Noida/ Bengaluru/MumbaiMinimum Experience:15 yearsJob Description:People focus: The role has a key responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of staff. Technical Leader is expected to demonstrate effective & visible leadership across projects, focusing on the ongoing engagement and retention of employees through the development of individuals and building high performing teams technically.Business, operational & commercial management – delivering on business plan & budgetary targets.Commercial governance – project reviews; forecasting and resource management.Divisional Resource Management – iCRC utilisation.Technical governance of the Intelligent Infrastructure team output working with UK technical governance of all deliverables.Key point of contact with the UK business, direct liaison with UK leadership, and promoting the iCRC and ensuring its success.Line Manager – PDRs, promotion, training & mentoring.Staff/Team Development – support, training, nurturing; and.Representing the Intelligent Infrastructure business within the wider Indian Business.Responsibilities:Act as the ‘face’ of the India-based Intelligent Infrastructure team for technical delivery of UK II schemes.Local health and safety, welfare, risk, information security, and assessment/compliance.Promote WSP Vision and Values.Actively promote the UK iCRC culture within the team and ensure that the staff deliver on promises.Manage the team and processes to ensure the preparation and checking of documents, reports and other technical outputs/deliverables from a variety of Intelligent Infrastructure related annual works programmes, meet internal and client requirements and quality assurance standards.Mentoring team members towards professional, technical accreditation or equivalent.Carry out and report on staff appraisals and performance development reviews.Recruitment to achieve budgeted and programmed team growth.Monitor and review team capability in the use of the required standards, processes and software tools and, with technical colleagues, identify training required.Identify opportunities to upskill existing technical resources or recruit new capabilities to deliver additional services or enhance existing ones.Identify further skills that could be brought into the iCRC to deliver additional services or enhancements to various businesses.Ensuring that the Business Management System is implemented and maintained.Seek regular feedback on team performances, ensure criticisms are positively converted into opportunities for improvement.Contribute to the design of operational processes, systems, quality measurement processes and achievement of KPIs.Carry out audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes and implement corrective measures where required.Client/External focus:Maintain strong integration with UK colleagues and contribute to the teams’ performance of client satisfaction.Contribute to knowledge sharing in internal and external forums and including technical input to your team.Remain up to date with market and competitor knowledge across the Intelligent Infrastructure business.People:Inclusively lead people, clearly articulating the vision, defining responsibilities, delegating effectively and providing constructive feedback.Inspire and motivate departmental staff towards technical progression.Be self-motivated to take on a leadership role in project work with a clear focus on timeliness, quality and technical excellence.Managing people through change and develop succession plans.Create and support innovation.Deal with conflict appropriately.Work across cultures (e.g. international and/or multi-disciplinary projects), embracing diverse points of view.Business Focus:Be responsible for the quality of technical outputs to WSP standards including any specific UK client standards.Identify appropriately qualified staff to deliver projects with regard to the constraints of project budgets.Explore ways to add value and improve personal and team performance.Ensure budget utilization is met or exceeded. Key Competencies:You should be able to demonstrate a proven working knowledge of the II sector in terms of UK design standards.Track record of senior technical experience in at least one II, Transport or equivalent discipline.Excellent communication, internal client handling, interpersonal skills and listening skills with the ability to influence and interact with people.Comfortable leading internal engineering discussions and the experience and ability to understand,Open-minded and intellectually agile.A hard-working self-starter with initiative and ability to work within a team environment.Understand own strengths and impact, adapting behavior according to different situations and individuals.Able to work effectively under pressure.Act ethically with fairness, honesty and integrity.You should have demonstrable experience of resource and project management.Experience of liaison with clients, co-professionals and design teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Effective time management and strong organizational skills.Qualifications:Educated to Bachelor / Master’s degree level in a such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or equivalent.Chartered Engineer status of a recognized professional institution. (e.g. IET).Seasoned professional with at least 15 years’ experience in technical design delivery, project management, project delivery or in leadership in a consulting engineering environment.
