Description
As a member of the team at Resideo, you will be involved in designing, developing, and integrating embedded firmware for cutting-edge home automation IoT devices focusing on comfort applications. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient, reliable, and predictable wireless communication between various products, cloud services, and mobile applications tailored for the North American and European residential markets. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing embedded firmware for device connectivity using protocols such as WiFi, BLE, and proprietary RF protocols - Working on all aspects of complex embedded software projects including design, development, review, and testing - Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and coordination for project planning and execution - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create architecturally sound designs, contribute to hardware selection, design test plans, and ensure timely delivery of software modules, applications, and documentation - Evaluating new technologies and providing technical assessments in your areas of expertise - Participating in firmware platformization efforts across the Comfort business and Resideo - Engaging in process improvement, technology advancement, methodology enhancement, and innovation initiatives - Mentoring junior resources and external design teams as needed To be successful in this role, you must have: - 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development using C, including multithreading programming with RTOS - Proficiency in embedded C, data structures, code optimization, and logical analysis - Knowledge of wireless/RF connectivity and networking standards like WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc. - Hands-on experience with lab tools such as Oscilloscope, Logic analyzer, etc. - Experience with automated unit testing frameworks and cross-compilers - Expertise in firmware debugging techniques and tools like Wireshark and JTAG Additionally, candidates with the following will be valued: - Experience in IoT Protocols like AMQP, MQTT, WebSocket - Knowledge of home automation products and the residential market - Familiarity with ARM Cortex-A and Cortex-M processors, C++, Python, and CI/CD - Understanding of cryptographic concepts, embedded Linux environments, and software management tools This position provides you the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, collaborate globally, contribute to core product development, and gain hands-on experience with IoT products.
